Getting it Right Guides
The plant science industry is active in the stewardship of its plant health products, working to ensure they don’t harm human health or the environment. Training, fields days and farmer guides are an important element in our work to achieve better farming, better food and better health.
The best pest control is achieved through Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which is an environmentally-focused strategy for the long-term prevention of pests. It draws on tools such as biological control, changing of habitats or cultural practices, and the use of resistant varieties. This reduces the need for pesticides, with treatments used only where needed to remove the target pest. This further minimises risks to human health, beneficial and nontarget insects or plants, and the environment.
