As part of the Stewardship activities, AAK partnered with SNV Kenya from August 2016 in the implementation of the Spray Service Provider programme by aiming to train 480 SSPs in six counties in Kenya: namely Makueni, Kajiado, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Nakuru and Bungoma. The key goal of the initiative is for improving food safety through proper and responsible pesticide application. Upon receiving key training, certification and capacity development, the SSPs were also equipped with critical personal protective equipment (PPE) in February 2018 to ensure that the service providers are adequately protected as they disseminate their services to the farmers in their business operations.
